Christian R. Johnson

Christian R. Johnson joined the Law Offices of Scott C. Lannie in 2015. Having grown up in Mont Belvieu, Texas, she decided to leave behind her national defense practice to focus on helping people in the greater Baytown area. Christian’s practice focuses primarily on personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, motorcycle accidents, trucking accidents, auto/pedestrian accidents, slip and fall cases, trip and fall, premises liability, dog bites, and family law. Since 2014, she has been named to the top 2.5% of attorneys in Texas as a Texas Super Lawyers Rising Star.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Aside from her legal pursuits, Christian serves as a member of the Chambers County Child Welfare Board which works hard to protect and provide for the children in our community. She was the 2014-2015 President of Baytown Junior Forum, a local non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of women, children and families in need and was made an honorary Sustainer for Life for her exemplary service. Additionally, Christian serves/served: Emma’s Hugs Inc.; the 100 Club; Blue Santa; Pink Heals; Habitat for Humanity; Goodfellows; Baytown Little Theater; Relay for Life and Operation Christmas Child. Christian is an active member of Second Baptist Baytown. 
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
In furtherance of the legal profession, Christian proudly served the State Bar as a member of the Texas Young Lawyers Association’s National Trial Competition Committee (NTC). The TYLA - by and through NTC - is devoted to helping turn out future trial lawyers of excellence throughout our nation. Additionally, she was an active member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI) throughout her time as a defense lawyer. In 2015, she was appointed by the President of DRI to serve on the Executive Membership Committee as co-chair of DRI for Life and also served as the 2015 Co-Vice Chair of the Marketing Committee of the DRI Young Lawyers Committee. Christian received the 2014 Outstanding Subcommittee Chair award for her work as Membership Chair on the DRI Young Lawyers Committee. Past leadership roles include: Texas Association of Defense Counsel – Young Lawyers Committee (Nominated & Appointed 2014), the Texas Young Lawyers Association: National Trial Competition Committee (2011-present) and State Moot Court Competition Committee (2011-2014); the DRI Young Lawyers Committee Membership Chair (2013-2014), DRI Women in the Law SLDO Liaison (2013-2015); Membership Co-Vice Chair (2012-2013), Professional Liability Committee Liaison (2012-2014), and Professional Liability Vice Liaison (2011-2012).

ACADEMIC HONORS
Christian was a Deans Merit, Howard Warren and Advocacy Scholar at South Texas College of Law. Additionally, she was awarded the Phi Delta Phi Highest Grade Award for her writing skills in Legal Research & Writing II. She served as Officer and/or Director to the Board of Advocates throughout law school and traveled five of her six semesters as a varsity advocate. Christian was part of the championship team and awarded the Excellent Advocate Award at the Georgetown White Collar Crime tournament; was a finalist at the William Daniel Criminal Trial Competition and, was Quarter Finalist and 3rd Best Speaker at the Leroy Jeffers Moot Court Competition. She graduated cum laude from the University of Houston Honors College where she was an Autrey Endowed Scholar, inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and studied abroad in Salamanca, Spain at that Universidad de Salamanca. Christian is a member of Texas Bluebonnet Girls State where she was selected as first alternate to Girls Nation and at the age of fourteen, she was nominated, selected and served abroad as a Student Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand.
